Maad or Saba

Madd (saba senegalensis) is a very popular fruit whose grains are covered with a tangy pulp. Its fruit is called zaban). It is a globular shell that contains seeds coated with very soft and juicy yellow pulp. They are tangy and sweet. The fruit can be eaten as is or seasoned with sugar, salt and pepper. Mixed with water and sugar, the pulps make a delicious juice. It is not advisable to swallow the seeds.
